According to data of the analytical center Rusagrotrans, in January 2010, despite the unfavorable weather conditions in the ports, grain exports from Russia totaled 1.54 mln tonnes, an increase of 0.53 mln tonnes compared to the same period of the previous year. Taking into account the seasonal fluctuations, the record volumes of grain shipment through Russian ports broke the record during the recent seven years, informed the press-release of the company on February 8.
At the same time, in the marketing season-2009/10, the general exports of Russian grains repeat the trend of the record season 2008/09. As a reminder, last grain season, Russia supplied 20 mln tonnes of grains on the foreign market. During the first 8 months of the current marketing year (2009/10), grain export volumes totaled 13.1 mln tonnes as opposed to 13.3 mln tonnes in the season-2008/09.
In 2010, tender data of grain purchases also allow observing he continuation of the dynamics of the last season. According to estimations of CJSC Rusagrotrans, in February 2010, grain exports will total 1.6 mln tonnes as opposed to 1.37 mln tonnes in the season 2008/09.
Novorossiysk port still stays the main logistics center of Russian grain exports – 6.25 mln tonnes of export cargoes from June 2009. (6.38 mln tonnes in the previous same period). Russia will possibly increase own grain exports in the terms of development of own grain logistics infrastructure only. Establishment of new export-oriented capacities, such as the new grain terminal of Tuapse port (prospective capaciites of 2.5 mln tonnes) and others in the Black Sea and the Far East regions, will allow to the country to provide successful competition on the export market and support diversification of logistics centers and level the possible risks of overstocking, according to the announcement of CJSC Rusagrotrans.
