In order to provide the effective spring field works in the subjects of the Russian Federation, the government plans to form the committee of examination of issues concerning securing agricultural commodity producers with seeds, fuel and lubrication materials, agricultural equipment, declared Elena Skrynnik, the Minister of Agriculture, on February 4.
According to E.Skrynnik, the Ministry has already founded the committee, which included representatives of all interested Ministries and departments.
To date, regions of Russia provide preparatory works for spring sowing campaign. In 2010, the general sowing areas in 2010 will total 77.9 mln ha, up 395 thsd ha compared to 2009.
Agrarians sowed winter crops throughout the areas of over 18.1 mln ha, which exceeded the level of the previous year by 957 thsd ha. According to data of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet), Russian academy of agricultural sciences and the departments of controlling of agro industrial complexes of various regions, condition of the crops is estimated as good.
In the current year, agrarians plan to provide spring sowing campaign throughout the area of 47.8 mln ha, including spring grains and leguminous plants – 30.2 mln ha.
Sowing areas of maize will total 1771 thsd ha (up 336 thsd ha or 123% to 2009 indices), soybean – 1095 ha (up 224 thsd ha or 126% to 2009), spring rapeseed – 546 thsd ha (up 30 thsd ha or 106% to 2009).
