Kazakhstan comes to the list of ten largest exporters of wheat in the world

Kazakhstan stably comes to the list of ten largest exporters of wheat in the world. The country locates in close neighborhood with own competitors on the market of grains – Russia and Ukraine, which provides negative effects on prices in the region, in the periods of large-scale harvest volumes, according to experts of ATFBank Research.

The continental geographical location, weak development of infrastructure, transport dependence from Russia do not allow to Kazakhstan to completely realize own export potential. But to date, the country continues construction of export terminals in Poti (Georgia), Amirabad (Iran) and at the border with the People`s Republic of China. Also, the country has low level of storage capacities.

In 2010-2015 period, the average wheat harvest will grow compared to the level of the recent five years, due to expansion of usage of permanent agriculture, and observance of agricultural technologies, and the exports will total 5-7 mln tonnes per year. According to estimations of FAO/OECD, the international prices will vary within the range of 198-218 USD/t, a decrease compared to the level of prices in 2006/07 and 2008/09 MY (296), but also up compared to the previous years indices. Export prices of Kazakh wheat will support the main development of the trend.

JSC ATFBank is the universal financial institution. During 14 years of operation, the organization reached essential results in all spheres of bank activities. To date, ATFBank comes to the list of five main banks of Kazakhstan. In November 2007, UniCredit group purchased the bank.
