Kazakhstan to transit 3 mln tonnes of grains through China

Kazakhstan plans to transit 3 mln tonnes of grains through the territory of China to countries of the South-East Asia, declared Umirzak Shukeev, the First Vice-Premier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on December 7.

Kazakhstan and China also plan to launch grain terminal at the border. The countries also discussed the possibility of supplying of Kazakh wheat to the People's Republic of China.

China shows high interest in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, especially in soybean production. China is interested in attraction of investments to the industry, development of irrigated farming, in order to provide the further exports of the produced soybean to the People's Republic of China, declared Akylbek Kurishbaev, the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

According to Asyljan Mamytbekov, the chairman of the board of the company National holding KazAgro, Kazakhstan will start grain exports through the territory of China from the beginning of the next year. The company has contract obligations to supply 700 thsd tonnes of grains to South Korea.
