During January-October period of 2009, Ukraine faced the largest fall of industrial production among the CIS countries, which totaled 26.4% compared to the same period of 2008, declared the Intergovernmental Committee of Statistics of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In January-October period, the fall of manufacturing output in Moldova totaled 24.1% compared to the level of January-October of 2008, in Kyrgyzstan – 13.9%.
During ten months of 2009, the manufacturing output in Russia decreased by 13.3%, in Armenia – by 11.4%, in Tajikistan – by 8.6%, in Belarus – by 4.5%, in Kazakhstan – by 0.2%.
In Azerbaijan, the industry showed the growth rates of 7.4%. During January-September of 2009, in Uzbekistan, the growth of industrial production indices totaled 9.1% (the Committee of Statistics has no data concerning January-October period in the country).
During January-October, Ukraine also met the maximum annual inflation among the CIS countries – nearly 16.5% compared to January-October of 2008. The annual prices in Belarus increased by 13.6%, in Russia – by 12.2%. The annual inflation in Kyrgyzstan totaled 8.3%. During January-October period, the index in Kazakhstan totaled 7.6%, in Tajikistan – 6.8%, in Armenia – 3%, in Azerbaijan – 1.7%. The average prices in Moldova stayed at the level of the previous year.
The average Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the CIS countries decreased by 9% compared to January-October period of 2008, the manufacturing output lowered by 13%, cargo shipment – by 18%, retail turnover – by 7%.
Azerbaijan showed the highest growth of the Gross Domestic Product at the level of 8.3% among the CIS countries with already calculated indices. GDP in Kyrgyzstan increased by 3.2%, in Tajikistan – by 2.9%. In Armenia the Gross Domestic Product lowered by 17.5%, in Russia – by 9.6% (estimations of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation), in Belarus – by 1%.
