The Republic of Tajikistan almost completed the harvesting campaign, agrarians continue harvesting grains in the mountain regions only, declared Muhammady Ormonov, the chief of the department of industrial crops and grains of the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to M.Ormonov, the country harvested over 1 mln tonnes of grains. According to forecasts of specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the UN, in 2009, grain harvest in the country will total 1.15 mln tonnes, without maize for grain, rice and additional sowing.
