During January-September period of 2009, the average fall of industrial production in the CIS countries totaled 14% compared to the indices of the same period of 2008, declared the Intergovernmental Committee of Statistics of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
During January-September period of 2009, Ukraine faced the largest fall of industrial production among the CIS countries, which totaled 28.4% compared to the same period of 2008. The fall of industrial production in Moldova totaled 24.3%.
Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 11.5%, in Armenia – by 11.4%, in Tajikistan – by 10%, in Belarus – by 4.5%, in Kazakhstan – by 1%.
In Azerbaijan, the industry showed the growth rates of 5%, in Uzbekistan – 9.1%.
