According to the National bureau of statistics of the Republic of Moldova, during nine months of 2009, the average sale prices of agricultural products, formed by agricultural enterprises of Moldova, decreased by 31.3% compared to the indices of the same period of the previous year.
During January-September of 2009, prices of plant growing products lowered by 38% compared to the same period of 2008. In the reporting period, grains and leguminous plants prices decreased by 48.8% (wheat lost in prices by 49.2%, maize – by 59.5%). Sunflower seed prices decreased by 32.3%.
