Sea ports of Russia increased grain shipment by 3 times

During nine months of 2009, the cargo flow of sea ports of Russia increased by 8% compared to the same period of the previous year, to 368.6 mln tonnes. Dry cargoes shipment totaled 146.4 mln tonnes (up 0.2%), bulk cargoes – 222.3 mln tonnes (up 13.9%), declared the Association of sea trading ports of Russia.

Shipment volumes of export cargoes increased by 10.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, to the level of 285.2 mln tonnes, including 47.9 mln tonnes of coal (up 22.3%), 15.3 mln tonnes of grains (up3 times), 3.4 mln tonnes of ore (up 2.4 times), 20.1 mln tonnes of ferrous metals (up 3.9%), 3.2 mln tonnes of nonferrous metals (up 9.6%), and 172 mln tonnes of bulk cargoes (up 8.9%). Export volumes of mineral fertilizers lowered by 25.9% – to 7.1 mln tonnes, timber cargoes – down 39.4% to 4.4 mln tonnes, containers – down 8.1% to 6.1 mln tonnes.

Shipment volumes of import cargoes reduced by 39.9% and totaled 19.8 mln tonnes, including container cargoes – down 40.5% to 8.9 mln tonnes, general cargoes – down 48.8% to 5.2 mln tonnes.

Shipment volumes of transit cargoes through Russian sea ports grow by 16.4% compared to same period of the previous year, to 33.4 mln tonnes at the expense of crude petroleum products. Coasting trade shipment volumes increased by 1.4 times.

Cargo shipment in the sea ports of the North-Western basin totaled 166.1 mln tonnes (up 2.8%), including dry cargoes – 55.5 mln tonnes (down 16%), bulk cargoes – 110.7 mln tonnes (up 15.7%). The cargo flow of Bolshoy port of Saint-Petersburg decreased by 20% – to 37 mln tonnes, Kalinigrad port – down 20.5%, to 9.3 mln tonnes. The cargo flow of Primorsk port grew by 4.7% and totaled 58.7 mln tonnes, Murmansk port – up 34.4%, to 28.2 mln tonnes, Ust-Luga port – up 39.8%, to 7.2 mln tonnes, Vysotsk port – up 8.7%, to 13.2 mln tonnes.

The Southern basin ports shipped 134.8 mln tonnes of cargoes (up 14%), including dry cargoes – 47.3 mln tonnes (up 27.4%), bulk – 87.5 mln tonnes (up 7.9%). Sea terminals of Novorossiysk shipped over 92.8 mln tonnes (up 11.4%). Tuapse port lowered cargo shipment to the level of 13.8 mln tonnes (down 5.9%),

The Far East basin ports processed 67.6 mln tonnes (up 10.3%), including dry cargoes – 43.5 mln tonnes (up 1.5%), bulk – 24.1 mln tonnes (up 30.4%).
