In September 2009, Ventspils Grain Terminal (Latvia) shipped 142.8 thsd tonnes of grain cargoes, declared the press-cutting service of the port.
According to Vlad Shafranskiy, the chairman of JSC Ventspils Grain Terminal, September indices really broke the record. Taking into account the technical facilities of the terminal, such loading rates are rather optimum for the enterprise. The terminal has facilities to ship nearly 150 thsd tonnes of grains per month.
Dee-sea grain terminal in Ventspils allows to ship grains with the least transport costs on markets of the North Africa and the Middle East. Grain exporters from Latvia and Lithuania use the facilities.
Also, grain exporters from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan show interest in using of Ventspils Grain Terminal.
