Ukraine: grain stocks in Crimea lowered by 18%

In the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine), as of October 1, 2009, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) and also enterprises, dealing with storage and processing of grains, kept 753.9 thsd tonnes of grains, down 18% compared to October 1 of 2008, informed the Main department of statistics in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

According to the announcement, wheat stocks in the Crimea totaled 464.5 thsd tonnes (down 29%). From the total amount, directly agrarian enterprises stocked 318.3 thsd tonnes of grains (down 15%), including 173.7 thsd tonnes of wheat (down 23%).

Grain storehouses and grain processing enterprises stocked 435.6 thsd tonnes of grains, grain storehouses only – 344.7 thsd tonnes.

General sunflower seed stocks totaled 12.7 thsd tonnes.

As a reminder, as of September 1, 2009, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) of the Crimea and also enterprises, dealing with storage and processing of grains, kept 901 thsd tonnes of grains, down 12.8% compared to September 1, 2008.
