Due to the situation on the market of Argentina in the recent months, the alignment of forces on the world market of sunflower oil also started changing. In the first half year of 2009, the growth of sunflower oil exports of the group of three leaders in the sector (Russia, Ukraine and Argentina) totaled 60% compared to the same period of 2008, but in July-September period, the growth rates lowered to the level of 21%. The decrease of sunflower seed processing volumes caused the present situation, and the reduction of sunflower oil exports from Argentina.
But the most interesting development of the situation will come in the nearest time, after promulgation of the resulting data concerning sunflower sowing campaign in Argentina, and the harvesting campaign in Russia and Ukraine.
