During January-September of 2009, the general output of agricultural products in Moldova totaled 89.8% from the same index of the same period in 2008.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the decrease of plant growing products output caused the reduction.
According to preliminary data, all varieties of agricultural economies in Moldova harvested nearly 700 thsd tonnes of wheat (down 45%), 250 thsd tonnes of barley (down 29%).
Unfavorable weather conditions lowered the yield indices of the grains, which totaled 21.4 c/ha and 17.7 c/ha. Or 63.1% and 59.6% respectively from the previous year levels. The average of industrial crops also decreased.
