Kazakhstan to export 5.5 mln tons of grains

To date, Kazakhstan exported nearly 5.2 mln tons of grains and flour from the beginning of the marketing year, declared Arman Evniev, the Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on June 9. In 2008/09 MY, the general export volumes of grains will total 5.5 mln tons.

At the same time, flour forms nearly 50% of the export volumes (Kazakhstan takes the first place in the world at the product exports, during three years). The monthly grain exports total nearly 200-250 thsd tons, marked A.Evniev.

Agrarians of the country plan to increase grain harvest in the current year by 15-20% compared to the previous year level, added the Vice-Minister. As a reminder, last year the harvest in Kazakhstan totaled 15.6 mln tons of grains.
