Kazakh Food Contract Corporation plans to build export grain terminal in Georgian port Batumi instead of Poti, Igor Musalimov, the ambassador of Kazakhstan in Georgia, declared on October 6.
According to I.Musalimov, previously Georgia and Kazakhstan discussed terminal construction in Poti but then parties canceled the agreement.
To date, Kazakh company "Ak Biday – Terminal" (subsidiary of Food Contract Corporation) and Batumi sea port Ltd. plan to create joint enterprise for construction of terminal with annual capacities of 350.000 tonnes of grain.
