Kazakhstan government doesn't expect agiotage demand on Kazakh wheat in this year like in the previous, reported Akulbek Kurishbaev, Minister of Agriculture on June 17. Russia and Ukraine harvested good yield this year and have large export potential.
Until Russia and Ukraine transship their export grain through their ports, the Kazakh traders won't get there. Thus, demand for Kazakh wheat would increase closer to winter, stated Minister.
According to him, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan received poor yield this year, and Kazakh traders expect high demand from their side.
As for the prices forecast, Minister underlined, that the prices will be mainly determined by the demand for milling wheat. However, A. Kurishbaev considers that the prices for wheat will not exceed the last years’ level.
