Kazakhstan: the development and expansion of hazardous for agriculture organisms is expected at 5.1 mln ha of lands

Among examined 12.9 mln ha of the sowings in Kazakhstan, 11.2 mln ha or 87% happened to be weed-grown, informed Anna Buts, Director of Department of Planting and Phyto-sanitary Security of Ministry of Agriculture. At the same time, 8.9 mln ha or 80% of the sowings were processed with the plant protection agents.

According to the forecasts, this year development and expansion of hazardous organisms is expected at 5.1 mln ha of lands, including plant pests – 2.8 mln ha, diseases – 2.3 mln ha.

Plant rust and septoria disease are the actual questions. Among examined 3.8 mln ha, 534.000 ha of lands happened to be infected.

But the Government doesn't provide enough budget funds for processing of the infected land – only 13% (or 302.000 ha) of the sowings. Therefore A. Buts considers that it is necessary to conduct works on plant protection at the local level.
