Kazakhstan plans to expand the areas under grain

According to the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Ahmetzhan Esimov, they plan to increase grain production volumes in connection with growing world demand on it.

According to him, for solving this task in line with intensification of the production they need to expand the sowing areas at the expense of involvement of new lands including long-fallow and reserved lands.

According to the estimates of the specialists, Kazakhstan has at least 8 mln ha of unused area, appropriate for cultivation of agricultural crops, in particular, grain.

A. Esimov also appealed to the producers of agricultural commodities to actively use resource-saving technology, currently introduced on 28% of areas under agricultural crops.
