Ukraine: soybeans exports increased 11 times from last year

According to APK-Inform estimates, since the start of this season (September) until the current moment Ukraine has exported some 185,000 tonnes of soybeans - up 11 times from the same period of last season.

According to statistics data, since September through December 2005 Ukraine sold 154,950 tonnes of the beans for the worth of $33.39 million. The main amounts of soybeans were shipped to Hungary, Turkey and Greece.

According to APK-Inform estimates, another 30,000 tonnes of the beans were shipped in January and over the part portion of February.

Our analysts put the total export in the 2005/06 MY at about 200,000 to 20,000 tonnes against just 36,000 tonnes exported last season.

The 2005 soybeans crop in Ukraine increased to 611,500 tonnes from 363,300 tonnes in 2004.
